Services

The ultimate goal at Caramore is to help people live as whole and happy a life as possible. National data and our experience suggests that, as it relates to people managing SPMI, some of the biggest hurdles include finding consistent work, safe housing, and supportive services to assist with the daily tasks that can be overwhelming for anyone to face entirely on their own. Caramore accomplishes this goal by offering Community Housing, Vocation, Peer Support, and Supported Living.

Community Housing

Previously known as "WISE," Caramore's residential program is the only one of its kind in the entire state of North Carolina. This unique program creates an infrastructure in the lives of adults with severe and persistent mental illness (SPMI), helping them to achieve the highest level of successful independence and personal accountability.

Vocational Program

Caramore's vocational program provides participants with immediate and paid employment while focusing on personal and professional development. Through acutely measured metrics, participants are personally coached to become valuable employees and ultimately supported in obtaining competitive and desired employment within the community.

Peer Support

This program provides recovery-focused, person-centered services for adults living with mental illness or substance abuse. Focused on holistic wellness, Peer Support Services are designed to ignite hope, foster independence, and promote growth - all with the backing of a Certified Peer Support Specialist, someone who has demonstrated the ability to successfully manage their own diagnoses and while living and working in the community.

Supervised Living LOW

Through the Supervised Living Low (SLL) program, Caramore is able to create a safety net for folks who are working towards full independence, but who may still need a little additional assistance in certain arenas.  This program allows the participants to function entirely on their own within the community, but affords them the opportunity to ask for help if and when it is needed - and have confidence in knowing that help is available.
